We are delighted to welcome icould as part of our family from 31 March.
Our research shows that careers encounters have greater impact when students prepare beforehand and reflect afterwards. Therefore, connecting our volunteer visits to schools with icould’s video career stories and digital resources will expand the reach and deepen the impact of these interactions, helping further inspire and inform young people’s career choices.
As another free offer to schools, icould resources not only help inform students of the wealth of opportunities available but also provide both their teachers and parents with a more informed line of sight to the world of work. Highlighting just how complex the career landscape is today our volunteers have nearly 30,000 different job names! icould resources highlight nearly 40 different career routes – from fashion to fire and emergency, science to sport and fitness and animal care to accountancy as well as decoding job titles.
Routes to different occupations are also explored depending on the subjects students are studying and the ‘Buzz Quiz’, which is based on the Myers Briggs personality types, can help act as a guide to the type of careers that might suit a young person.
Founded in 2009, the icould website has become an established careers education resource and as such will allow us to provide a more comprehensive service to young people, their families and their teachers.
