London Careers Festival (27 June – 7 July) is back again and we’re excited to be hosting four virtual activities for Years 10-13 with our volunteers who can’t wait to share their career journey and insights with your students!

Jobs in Sports Sector
Year group: 10, 11, 12 and 13
Date and time: Tues 27 June, 9:30 – 10:30 am
Description: This session offers KS4 and KS5 students the chance to meet a number of volunteers who have jobs in the sports sector such as physiotherapists, policy advisors and business professionals. The session will be held as a panel discussion with some set questions the volunteers will answer, interactive poll and quiz questions and Q&A from students. We will aim to discuss the various experiences the volunteers have gained in their career, the skills and qualifications they obtained and tackling gender stereotypes in the sports sector.
Working towards Sustainability
Year group: 10, 11, 12 and 13
Date and time: Tues 27 June, 1:30 – 2:30 pm
Description: This session, for KS4 and KS5 students, aims to showcase the growing need for sustainability related jobs across sectors in London such as construction, healthcare, tech and beyond. In this ‘Classroom Chats’ styled activity our volunteers will deliver a presentation about their career pathway, the importance of sustainable jobs, and their experience of working in the sector. Students will have time for Q&A, as well as answering quiz questions related to the sector.
Pathways into Healthcare
Year group: 10, 11, 12 and 13
Date and time: Wed 28 June, 9:30 – 10:30 am
Description: This session, aimed at KS4 and KS5 students, will introduce them to a wide range of roles in the healthcare sector, connecting them to volunteers from across the NHS. Students can hear about the essential skills and subjects that are useful in jobs in the NHS, as well as learning about the different pathways into such roles.
Creative Jobs
Year group: 10, 11, 12 and 13
Date and time: Thurs 29 June, 9:30 – 10:30 am
Description: This session offers KS4 and KS5 students the chance to meet a number of volunteers who are not just creatives but have a range of job in the creative industry. The session will be held as a panel discussion with some set questions the volunteers will answer, interactive poll and quiz questions and Q&A from students. We will aim to discuss the various experiences and skills the volunteers have gained in their career, tackle the idea that breaking into the creative industry is about “who you know” and how creativity is an essential skill that cuts across industries.
