Inspiring the Future is back with London Careers Festival for 2025! After the success of the last couple of years we are once again hosting a number of virtual activities covering a range of industries, sectors and themes from trades and crafts to science and ‘people who help us’.
This year we are back with five virtual activities for primary school aged pupils and two virtual activities for secondary aged students, as well as an in-person secondary school activity too!

Primary Virtual Activities
Everyday Heroes: People who help us (KS1)Thursday 6th February – 09:30-10:30. This fun and interactive activity will give pupils an insight into the jobs of people who help us on an everyday basis.
Skills for the World of Work (KS2)
Friday 7th February – 09:30-10:30. Linking to Mental Health Week, this activity aims to show children the importance of skills such as patience, kindness, resilience etc. and how they are used in a range of jobs.
How Science Works: Exploring Careers That Shape Our Future (KS2)
Tuesday 11th February – 09:30-10:30. This activity will explore exciting jobs in science like chemists, pharmacists and biologists!
Building the Future (KS2)
Wednesday 12th February – 09:30-10:30. Pupils will hear about exciting and diverse jobs in construction like architects and civil engineers.
Redraw the Balance (KS2)
Thursday 13th February – 09:30-10:30. We will be using our ‘Redraw the Balance’ format to challenge stereotypes about well-known jobs through drawing and meeting people in these jobs!
Secondary School and College Virtual Activities
Exploring Careers in Social Media and IT (KS4)Tuesday 11th February – 09:30-10:30. Last year students feedback that they wanted to hear more from people who work in social media and IT, so this year, we have a whole activity focussed on this industry! Join us to find out how different companies grow their online presence and how IT professionals keep systems online and ensure employees are able to complete their work.
Crafting the Future: Careers in Trades and Craftsmanship (KS3)
Wednesday 12th February – 09:30-10:30. From essential roles like carpenters and electricians, to more specialised work like boatbuilding and stonemasonry, we will explore the world of trades and crafts. We will also discover just how open these sectors are by tackling gender stereotypes by hearing from those in these impactful professions.
