The Our Future Derby project has launched a series of webinars, providing opportunities to learn more about the progress of the project and recent evaluation findings from Derby, as well as for teachers and volunteers to access dedicated online training to help with embedding career-related learning in primary schools. The project has been delivering a ground-breaking project of support to help primary schools in Derby embed career-related learning.

1. Career-related learning in Derby primary schools: Giving you the tools to succeed
Each day individuals, families and communities are facing new challenges, the likes of which most of us have never seen before. If ever there was a time to know how best to keep children and parents motivated to engage in learning about a fast changing world of work – it is now!
This webinar is aimed at headteachers, heads of year, teachers, career-related learning (CRL) champions and classroom assistants in 7 inner city Wards in Derby. Other interested parties are also welcome to join in.
Join the Our Future Derby team of specialist providers for this free webinar to learn more about the international evidence-base and recent evaluation findings from Derby, how to embed career-related learning in primary schools, support others and cope with the challenges many of us are experiencing in these extraordinary times.
This free webinar will cover:
· Recognising what works – to build upon an international and local evidence base
· Finding the balance – to enrich the curriculum and embed CRL using some easy steps
· Leveraging resources – to make it easy to implement
· Overcoming barriers – to become sustainable and impactful
· Identifying support – to learn from ‘tried and tested’ approaches.

2. Teacher training webinars for Derby schools to support usage of Primary Futures
Primary Futures are hosting a selection of webinars throughout May for Our Future – Derby schools, to support teachers to use Primary Futures themselves to plan aspirational activities in their school with volunteers from the world of work, after the end of the project. The webinar will last around 30-45 minutes, providing ideas for planning simple and effective activities with volunteers and how to use the Primary Futures platform to create events and invite volunteers. There will be an opportunity to ask questions to the team during the session.

3. Volunteer training webinars
Hosted by Inspiring the Future and Learn By Design, this session will help volunteers to understand more about how to support primary schools. It will spotlight some of the work we’ve done in inspiring children in Derby around the world of work and run through the different types of face to face activities, how to prepare for them, and top tips in making the most out of sessions. We’ll also be discussing our new virtual offer and how volunteers can inspire and motive children from wherever you are, as well as look at key safeguarding practices.
