When Deborah first started talking to her pupils about their ambitions, it was apparent that many of them lacked confidence and knowledge about the different jobs they could do. Since then, Deborah has used Primary Futures to access local volunteers from the world of work who can encourage her pupils to aim high.
After being the first primary school in Wakefield to host a Primary Futures event, South Parade have continued to use Primary Futures volunteers to support regular aspiration-raising activities including their ‘University Afternoons’, where children explore a different career path each half term through weekly workshops.
